Backup Photographic camera Calibration
Long story short, my photographic camera was calibrated about two months ago, and it took 3 hours. Wanting to save myself that hassle in the future, I recorded the pertinent numbers (info from http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index...ial_Procedures ). After finally getting my front parking sensors working and associated module installed, I checked the values, and they were off from what I recorded, and then I changed them. The problem is, now it's showing that my camera isn't calibrated, and the process is non working. When I get to the role about
Block 130 Field three (Calibration Condition)
Specification: 0x0000 (Calibration Successful)
[Done, Go Back]it shows instead 0x0003 [something virtually unsuccessful, or uncalibrated]
Field 1 shows that information technology'due south not prepare to be calibrated. Am I missing something? Is the procedure different because I've got the front sensors?
I'1000 bringing information technology in tomorrow to get protection cleared for my new MMI, anyhow so I could effort to get them to just tell it it's calibrated, but I don't want it to plow into a 3 60 minutes process again.

y'all're not going to be able to do information technology unless you accept the proper VAS tools or brand a simulated version of it... long story short, you're going to have to pay to calibrate the camera again. (i've had it done a couple of times through the dealer and they've always charged me 1 hr.)

And so the camera needs to "see" the calibration lath to work?

yes, with out it the system volition never accept a calibration.
a few people have fabricated ones from cardboard boxes and other cloth... look for VAS 6350... it looks like this:
i learned this past blow when i was adjusting settings on my Q7 later lowering it.
i am non sure if it is part of the process for the b8 a4 but when the Q7 gets an alignment they recalibrate the photographic camera besides.
here are the instructions if y'all get your hands on the tool or brand one:

information technology happened to me before, and the dealer wasnt able to calibrate information technology every bit i changed the coding of the parking module. and the dealer wants an extra hour of labor to recode the whole car back to factory and then calibrate it.

Oh and I was gonna mention aswell since I was tinkering and that's what reset the calibration the previous setting were still there. So I just changed the run value to run and just converted the distance already there from mm to inchs (which was right under 60) and allow it run. Hope this helps

Got the calibration to work on my 2013 A4 (B8.v) as follows:
one) the altitude from the center of the rear wheel to the edge of the calibration lath, as well as the height of the scale board must be spot on.
two) the beam width must match your car - this was the key to get the calibration to work!My steps:
ane) Place the calibration sheet printed from gab696'due south pdf in a higher place (big thanks!) 51.5" behind your automobile. The measurement is from the center of your rear wheel to the leading edge of the calibration sail.
two) Run VCDS and choose
[6C - Back-up Camera]
[Security Access - sixteen] Enter 22351, to enable the adaptation.3) [Adaptation - x] Channel 005 [Read] relieve a value of 500 as the paper for me was on the ground
[Examination] [Salvage]
Channel 004 [Read] save a value of 15872 for the A4 with the scale sheet 51.5" behind rear wheel
( 20000 - 2820 - 1308 = 15872mm ) --> (base measure - beam width - distance from rear wheel)
[Exam]
[Salvage]
Channel 001
[Read] save a new value of 1 (this tells your auto to calibrate)
[Test] [Save]
[Done, Get Dorsum]4) Now double cheque the calibration status.
[Meas. Blocks - 08] Select Block 130 [Go!]
Block 130 Field 3 (Calibration Status)
Specification: 0x0000 (Calibration Successful)
[Washed, Go Back]
[Close Controller, Go Back - 06]v) Scan for codes. If calibration is unsuccessful and then the measure you took above are wrong. Realign the target paper behind your automobile and try again.

wow this is pretty absurd; great info. I never new the fill-in cameras fifty-fifty needed calibration, but I suppose it makes sense that those "guide lines" would need to be calibrated if one lowered the car. Is that the only situation where it makes sense to recalibrate? I'm not suspecting that small-scale alignment changes would really brand that much difference.

Ironically I remember it's actual for the perspective of the camera also. My TL has a very fishbowl reverse appearance while my A5 looks more truthful to perspective with minimal baloney. And yep really cool.

I had to do the calibration every bit I tried to get the camera to shutoff as presently equally I shifted out of contrary. Messed something upward when I changed the code in [6c] from 1001008 to 1003008 (aarg I should have read the post better) as my guidelines are missing. Changing back did not resolve the event and I threw ii codes, this scale being one of them.
I now have the camera working well however my guidelines are missing and I have this 2nd code:
03110 - Agile Steering Control Module (J792)
004 - No Signal/Communication
Freeze Frame:
Error Status: 01100100
Fault Priority: 6
Fault Frequency: 3
Reset counter: 99
Mileage: 48442 km
Time Indication: 0
Date: 2014.06.xv
Fourth dimension: 10:36:06Freeze Frame:
Term 15 On
Reverse OFF
Count: 3Any help resolving would be appreciated!
So now I have only the to a higher place code, backup camera and acoustic sensors working simply guidelines missing. Not the end of the earth but want to become it resolved.

So I have checked this once more and selected [44 - Steering Help], Coding, Byte 1, Dropdown to [01 - Park Steering Assist Installed/Agile] only no joy. Likewise the 03110 - Active Steering Control Module (J792), 004 - No Signal/Communication is still showing. I'm thinking of taking it into the dealer for a await.
Any ideas before I practice??

Pitiful to be a bit off topic, simply this is the nearly informative mail I've seen about the rear camera.
Anyone have any thought how to fix the rear audio-visual beep? Mine stopped all of a sudden and I don't desire to go to the Dealer.
Tsch!

I know this is an erstwhile thread - thanks for all the data and the PDF of the calibration template. I retrofitted my 2010 A6 with the OEM rear camera and got it all working. I was able to impress it at Staples on their black and white "technology printer" for $10. Worked perfectly with these directions. Thank you!
